The Lower Elementary Trip to the Zoo

The children enjoyed their field trip to the Roger Williams Zoo. During the educational presentation at the zoo, the Education Staff from the Roger Williams Zoo ( and some chaperones) were surprised that the children knew most of the answers to their questions about habitats, reasons for habitats and why animals may need to migrate to different habitats. They were all well prepared for this trip!

The children enjoyed an art class at the zoo with Ruth: sketching the giraffe and elephants, as well as PE class with Gary: physically moving through the zoo exhibits while observing each animal's behavior of movement.

UE Wasp Nest Dissection

What a treat!

This morning, Nathan Rome from Upper Elementary, brought in this dissected wasp nest for me to see. The inside was so beautiful! I think he said they counted between 10-11 layers on the outside of the nest. They also discovered a dead wasp inside.

I just peeked out into the UE "Nook" and they were studying parts of it under a microscope. The invited me to join in.

All School Family Picnic 2010-2011

Finally! After being rescheduled three times due to rain, we had a beautiful fall evening, lakeside, for our All School Family Picnic.

Hosted by the PTO and held at Shaub Lodge, it was an opportunity for new and old Quest families to meet and mingle.

There was a wonderful assortment of side dishes and desserts supplied by our families and tasty burgers and veggie options grilled up by Paul.

The students had some simple, wholesome fun playing football and visiting with their friends.
